Mary Kennedy Thompson: Boost A Hero helps Marines become franchisees

Rebecca and Michael McMahon are veterans – they are former Marines – who are starting out in franchising. Mary Kennedy Thompson (USMC), IFA VetFran Committee Chair, met Rebecca at the Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Veterans with Disabilities last summer at Texas A&M and got the couple thinking about franchising.

“I truly believe franchising and veterans are a great match and after so faithfully serving our country our veterans deserve the opportunity,” said Thompson.

Michael and Rebecca served three combined tours in Iraq, putting their country ahead of themselves. Now they are opening a Grounds Guys franchise and are raising funds for their start up through the Boost a Hero program. Donating just $20 can make a big difference.
